Listen to “Arms”

The new studio single by Evie Clair is out now on all streaming platforms.

I know I should have released this song 9 years ago, after my first America’s Got Talent audition but honestly, for me it’s been a painful reminder of what I’ve lost. A song I used to make up dances in my living room to, and sing at karaoke nights, to singing it for my dad on hard chemo nights, and then at every show for years after he died, because that’s the song everyone wanted to hear…

I stopped singing Arms for a while because I didn’t want to feel it anymore.

Recording it now, letting myself feel all the years of grief, the highest highs and the lowest lows, the years of bliss, happy memories and sad, joy and pain, it felt different. I felt strong. Like looking down from the peak of a mountain. The last 9 years have been hard. But I’m grateful for the things that have made ne who I am. Someone my dad would be proud of. Someone I’m proud to be. And that I have a relationship with my Savior who makes up for all of my shortcomings.

I wanted to put all of that into this song. And I hope I did.
Because this version is as much for all of you as it is for me and my family. You’ve been here for all these years, shared your stories with me, and carried the meaning of this song with you just as much as I have.

So here is Arms. For my dad. For myself. And for you.
